We Are Your Neighbors: Rene Houck, Radcliffe, Local 1212

ABOUT RENE:
I have lived in this community for 24 years, am married with two daughters ages 22 & 19 and a two-year old granddaughter. I’ve been actively involved in my community over the years as a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where I have also taught Sunday School, VBS and WINGS. I have also served as treasurer for four years of the Hawk Express (a non-profit organization formed to provide transportation for open enrolled students), served on the School Improvement Committee, and served as treasurer of the local PAC group HR Care.

WHAT RENE DOES:
I am a registered in-home child development provider. My program accepts children ages 6 weeks to 10 years and provides a safe, nurturing environment that allows children to grow at their own pace socially and emotionally creating the strong foundation needed for later learning. My job also entails attending a minimum of 12 hours per year of continuing education as well as maintaining current CPR, 1st Aid and Mandatory Abuse Reporting.

HOW RENE'S JOB IS IMPORTANT TO HER FAMILY AND COMMUNTIY:
My program has been a staple in this community for over 18 years. My clients work in a variety of jobs including dental assistant, secretary, human relations personnel, lumber specialist, small business owner, college students, CNAs, and farmers. My business allows these workers to feel comfortable, confident and secure in the knowing their children’s needs are being met allowing them to more easily focus on their job responsibilities.
